Slow Cooker Recipes Using Souper Spice OR Your Own!

Who doesn't love split pea soup? I knew it was Friday when the split pea soup was served.  It reminds me of the good old days! Makes 4 servings

Recipe for: Split Pea Soup

¾ c green split peas

1/8 c yellow split peas

1/8 c lentils 

1 ham hock 

1 small onion-diced

1 small potato-diced

1 large carrot-diced

3 cloves garlic-minced

1tsp thyme

½ tsp celery seed

Bay leaf

6 C water, chicken, vegetable or beef broth

Salt & pepper

Preheat slow cooker on high. Add 6 cups boiling water (stock) split peas, diced carrots, ham hock and Split Pea Soup Mix packet. Mix well. Cover and cook on high 4-6

OR

Souper Spices Split Pea Soup Blend Mix- Who doesn't love split pea soup? Blended with onion flakes, thyme, celery seed, bay leaf and dried split peas. Makes 4 servings. Net wt 8oz (226g)

1 package split peas 

1 packet Souper Spices-Split Pea Soup Mix

1 ham hock 

1 large carrot-diced

6 C water, chicken, vegetable or beef broth

Salt & pepper

Preheat slow cooker on high. Add 6 cups boiling water (stock) split peas, diced carrots, ham hock and Split Pea Soup Mix packet. Mix well. Cover and cook on high 4-6.

Stove top directions: Rinse and sort beans/peas. Place beans in a large pot with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes. Turn off heat, cover and let beans soak for an hour. (You can also soak beans overnight in 4 cups of water) Drain and rinse. Return to pot with 4 cups water and simmer for 11/2-2 hours adding water if necessary. 

In a medium soup pan, add 1 1/4 quarts water, precooked split peas as directions above, diced carrots, ham hock and Split Pea Soup Mix packet. Mix well. Bring soup to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours covered.

  I love this soup because of all the herbs and veggies. It’s a delicious, healthy comfort soup and great with a crusty loaf of bread. Try adding salt pork for a meatier soup but omit the butter. Makes about 4 servings    Recipe for: Garden Vegetable Soup  

1 onion-diced 1 carrot-diced 1 stalk celery-diced ½ package fresh spinach ½ bell pepper-diced 1 16oz can tomatoes 1 tsp lovage, 1 tsp Marjoram 1 tsp Parsley 1 tsp Thyme 1 clove Garlic-minced Bay leaf 1 TB butter, margarine or olive oil (optional) 4 Cups boiling water, vegetable, chicken or beef broth Salt & pepper  

Preheat slow cooker on high. Add boiling water (stock) and all other ingredients. Add butter or oil for a richer flavor. Cover and cook on high 4-6 hours and 6-8 hours on low. Salt and pepper to taste. Try adding cooked chicken, beef, or shrimp!

Souper Spices Garden Vegetable Soup Blend Mix-A delicious, comfort soup with a blend of *barley, carrots, onion, tomatoes, spinach celery, red & green bell peppers, lovage, marjoram, parsley, thyme, garlic & bay leaf. All you have to do is boil water! It’s that easy. Makes about 4 servings Net weight 4.0 oz. (114g)

1 Package Souper Spices-Garden Vegetable Soup Blend 1 TB butter, margarine or olive oil (optional) 4 Cups boiling water, vegetable, chicken or beef broth Salt & pepper

  This is a zesty, warm your tummy, homemade chili for those BBQ’s and after football games. Makes 4 servings.  

 Recipe For: Chili  

1 c kidney beans-rinsed 1 16oz canned tomatoes 1 lb ground beef  1 small onion-diced 1/2 cup yellow or green pepper 1 8oz can tomato sauce 6 slices bacon-diced chili powder 1 Tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp oregano 1 tsp cumin ¼ tsp cayenne 1-3 cloves garlic-minced 1-2 jalapeño diced Bay leaf Sour cream & cheddar cheese to garnish 3 c boiling Water  

Preheat slow cooker to high and add tomatoes, rinsed beans, sauce and peppers. (We want everything hot to speed up the cooking process) Meanwhile, brown bacon and hamburger-drain then add to crock with boiling water. Cook 4/5 hours on high only. Top with the shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream.  

ORSouper Spices Chili Blend Mix-A zesty, warm your tummy, homemade chili blended with chili powder, cumin, oregano, cayenne, onion flakes, garlic, bay leaf and dried kidney beans. Makes 4 servings.  Free Recipe Included: Chili Mix Blend

*Stove top Directions: Rinse and sort beans/peas. Place beans in a large pot with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes. Turn off heat, cover and let beans soak for an hour. (You can also soak beans overnight in 4 cups of water) Drain and rinse. In a skillet, brown bacon and remove. Brown ground beef in bacon drippings and remove. Next add peppers and sauté until   soft. In a large pot, add tomatoes and tomato sauce along with all the other ingredients and mix well. Simmer for 45 minutes. Top with the shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream.    

  This is an anytime, hearty stick to your ribs delicious soup for those chilly rainy days. I love to make this in the winter, too. It's a little spicy, but not too, and it warms from the inside out. Enjoy! Makes 4 servings.  Recipe For Hearty Bean Soup

It's a little spicy, but not too, and it warms from the inside out. Enjoy! * Dried beans, peas & barley, onion flakes, chili powder, garlic, & lemon. Makes 4 servings. Net weight 8.0 oz (226g)

In a medium soup pan, add water, beans, ham hock, cooked beans and Souper Spices Hearty Bean Soup Mix Blend. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Remove ham hock, chop the meat & return to soup. Serve with your favorite bread and salad.  

Boston Baked Beans-Nothing compares to the flavor of homemade Boston Baked Beans. Makes 4 servings. 

Recipe For Boston Baked Beans

1 cup navy beans

3 slices bacon largely diced

1/8 c Acini de pepe 6 cups boiling water Salt & pepper to taste

Souper Spices Pasta Fagioli Soup Mix Blend- Mama Mia! That’s a good soup! Made with my own Italian Blend. Cranberry beans, Acini de pepe, basil, marjoram, oregano, onion, celery, paprika, parsley, rosemary & bay leaf

Try mushrooms, artichokes, bell peppers, cooked meat, seafood or veggies.  Recipe for: Herb Risotto  1/4 C X-virgin olive oil 1 small onion-minced 1/2 tsp minced garlic 1 tsp basil 1 tsp chives 1 tsp parsley 1/4 C dry white wine 3 1/2 C chicken broth 2/3 C freshly grated Parmesan Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste  

Toss rice and oil in together in slow cooker and stir to coat. Stir in stock and cook about 2 1/2 hours on high. Right before serving, stir in the Pecorino Romano cheese. You now have perfect risotto without the hassle! How easy is that?

Souper Spices Herb Risotto Blend- I couldn't believe how good this was and must say I was a bit skeptical. This recipe is delicious and what's nice is you can just about anything to kick it up! Try mushrooms, artichokes, bell peppers, cooked meat, seafood or veggies.  Free Recipe for: Herb Risotto Blend 1/4 C X-virgin olive oil 1 package Herb Risotto Blend 1/4 C dry white wine 3 1/2 C chicken broth 2/3 C freshly grated Parmesan Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1/4 lb Polish sausage-1/2 inch slices, quartered 

6 cups water or stock

Preheat slow cooker on high (We want everything hot to speed up the cooking process.) Add the beans, sausage and all the ingredients. Next add boiling water (stock). Mix well. Cover and cook 4-6 hours on high.

OR

Souper Spices Black Bean Soup- This soup is definitely a wholesome, hearty soup along with a salad and crusty bread. I also use bouillon cubes to make my broth. It's cheaper than boxed broth and tastes just as good. Use 1 cube to 1 cup of water. A wonderfully different mixture of black beans, onion flakes, bay leaf, thyme, and cumin. Makes 4 servings. Net weight 8.0 oz (226g)

I love barley and sometimes I eat it plain with a little butter. Added to this recipe, this makes a wonderfully thick dish. Makes 4 servings. 

Recipe For: Beans & Barley

1/4 navy beans

1/4 split peas

1/8 lentils

1/4 pinto beans

1/8 barley

1/4 dry mustard

½ tsp basil

½ tsp oregano

½ tsp parsley

½ tsp thyme 

½ tsp garlic 

½ tsp lovage 

½ tsp rosemary 

1 bay leaf 

1/8 tsp cayenne

1 carrot-diced

1 celery stalk-diced

1/4 cup mushrooms-diced

3 cups boiling hot water, chicken, vegetable or beef broth

Preheat slow cooker and add all ingredients except for water, cover. (We want everything hot to speed up the cooking process) Add boiling water (stock). Cook 4-6 hours on high. ( I have an orange 70's crock pot and it was done to perfection in just 4 hours) Check to make sure there is enough liquid near the end of cooking time. Do not cook on low.

OR

Souper Spices Beans & Barley Blend Mix-I love barley and sometimes I eat it plain with a little butter. Added to soup, this makes a wonderfully thick soup. Assorted dried beans, barley, dried mustard, parsley, cayenne pepper, minced onion. Makes 4 servings. Net weight 8.0 oz (226g)
